Program Overview

Figure 4: A National Team of five Visiting Researchers and one Visiting Educator conducted 97 Classroom Visit presentations for all 3,400 grade K-12 students in Labette County, Kansas, April 2003. Teachers in attendance ranked the presentations against 11 key indicators of success, e.g., “The Visiting Researcher’s Presentation involved audience participation” or “The presentation was relevant to my curriculum.” The graph provides the average grade across the Team for each of the 11 key indicators, and therefore provides a quick assessment of the Classroom Visit programming in Labette. The expectation is a grade of 80 or better for each indicator. As a benchmark, a grade of 75 corresponds to a 4 out of 5 on the ranking scale used by the teachers.
