Journey through the Universe
Program Overview

Figure 3: Results of an Educator Workshop in Hilo, Hawai’i, January 2006, for grade K-12 educators. Attendees were asked to rank the quality of the education materials (the Education Module on which they were trained) in five key areas including ‘their ability to facilitate and support inquiry-based exploration in the classroom’. The ranking is on a 1 to 4 scale with 1=’not effective’ and 4=‘very effective’. An ‘Overall Grade’ is then calculated across the pool of responses where an average rank of 3 out of 4 corresponds to a grade of 66.6 out of 100. Our expectation is a minimum grade of 87.5. These data obtained from 62 respondents yield an Overall Grade of 91.4, reflecting the quality of the Journey through the Universe Education Modules.
