A Program of the National Center for Earth and Space Science Education
Journey through the Universe
Program Overview

The Scene—Muncie Indiana, April 2000. Dr. Timothy Livengood just finished a way cool presentation for families. He took 300 parents, kids, and teachers on a remarkable journey through their Solar System. He’s qualified for the job. Dr. Tim is a planetary scientist that uses some of the largest telescopes on Earth to study the atmospheres of other worlds. You might say he’s a personal friend of Mars, Venus, Jupiter, Saturn, and Titan. Through his years of exploration, he’s actually gotten to know them all pretty well, and loves sharing his friends with others. Apparently the audience really enjoyed their experience. After the program kids swarmed around Dr. Tim for his autograph.
