Educator Workshop

Dr. Timothy Livengood, a senior space science researcher at the National Center for Earth and Space Science Education, and Amy Wolfe, an educator at the Center, conduct a Master Teacher Workshop in Earth Systems Science as part of Journey though the Universe in Kansas City, February 2004.  Dr. Tim and Amy (in the background) look on as teachers create self-contained biospheres as part of a high school lesson.

The master science educators attending the workshop are part of the Kansas City Local Team.  Each Journey through the Universe community has such educators on their Local Team, and they are critical for the success of the Journey program.  The master teachers help marry programming and content to the community’s strategic needs, as science lead teachers integrate Journey programming into the schools, assist the National Team presenters at the general workshops for the community’s educators, and serve as a local area resource for teachers during the school year.
